Effective: 17 September 2026 · Last amended: 5 October 2026 (amended Articles 8 and 11 take effect on 12 October 2026)
These Terms govern the rights and obligations between the operator of KBOOKS ("Company") and users of the KBOOKS cloud accounting service ("Service").
The Company may amend these Terms within the limits of applicable law. Changes are announced at least 7 days before they take effect, or at least 30 days in advance together with an email notice where the change is unfavourable to Users. A User who does not accept a change may terminate the agreement.
Users are responsible for safeguarding their credentials and may not transfer or lend an account. Users must notify the Company immediately upon learning of unauthorised use. Two-factor authentication and session history are provided.
Voucher entry and ledgers, industry-specific chart-of-accounts presets, VAT and withholding filing data, payroll, fixed assets, inventory and rental sub-ledgers, backup and restore.
The Service aims to be available 24/7. Planned maintenance is announced in advance. The Company is not liable for outages caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
Prices are shown in the Service. Payments are processed by PortOne; the Company does not itself store card numbers. We do not charge you automatically. A period does not auto-renew: it is extended only when you choose to pay. From 7 days before a period ends, the billing screen shows the days remaining, and it shows when the period has ended. Your books are never locked for non-payment — you can always read and export them. If we ever introduce recurring billing, we will announce it 30 days in advance, apply it only to users who separately opt in, and give 7 days' notice before each charge. The mobile app (e.g. Google Play) does not offer purchases; plans are purchased or changed on the website (kbooks.dev), and the app only shows your current plan. Price changes are announced 30 days in advance. Refunds follow the Refund Policy.
The Company processes Books Data only as needed to operate the Service, handle incidents, take backups and meet legal obligations. It does not disclose Books Data to third parties or use it for advertising without prior consent, and does not use it to train AI models. Users may export their data at any time in standard formats.
Users must not impersonate others, reverse-engineer the Service, attempt to reach other users' data, store unlawful material, or resell the Service without consent. Where a User enters personal data of third parties (counterparties, employees), the User is the data controller and is responsible for having a lawful basis; the Company acts as processor.
Users may close their account at any time. Account deletion: a member can delete their own account in the Service or as described on the account deletion page. Sign-in data and all sessions are revoked immediately, all company memberships end, and the name and email are made unidentifiable. A deleted account cannot be restored. Records the member entered remain part of that business's books, shown as authored by "deleted user". A sole owner of a company that still has other members must resolve those memberships first. Membership removal: a company's owner or administrator can remove a member (including an external tax agent); the member loses access to that company's books immediately, and their records remain part of its books. Company closure: requested by the company's owner and processed after confirmation; it can be cancelled until processed. Books and evidence subject to statutory retention (e.g. Framework Act on National Taxes Art. 85-3, Commercial Act Art. 33) are stored separately for the required period and then deleted, and can still be exported on request; other data is deleted promptly on request.
The Company takes reasonable care over the accuracy of calculations but is not a tax agent, and outputs are not tax or accounting advice. The Company is not liable for consequences of inaccurate or incomplete data entered by the User. Except in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence, the Company's aggregate liability is limited to the fees paid by that User in the three months up to and including the month in which the loss arose. This limit does not apply to wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
The Service and its components belong to the Company; Books Data belongs to the User. The Service is a bookkeeping tool for businesses. A minor under 19 needs their legal guardian's consent to pay for the Service; a payment made without it may be cancelled by the minor or their guardian and is refunded in full. We do not accept sign-ups from children under 14. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, with jurisdiction determined under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
